I was born in Grand Rapids, MI in 1969 and lived there until the 9th grade. My parents decided to move to Dallas, TX so they could attend Christ for the Nations Bible Institute. We stayed there for 6 years and returned back to Grand Rapids in 1989. I have one brother and one sister and thank God two wonderful parents. My parents taught us a lot about the closeness of family and what it meant. When I moved back to Michigan I attended the Grand Rapids Secretarial School program to improve my typing skills. My soul purpose of attending this program was to land my first real job at The Travelers Insurance Group. I stayed at The Travelers until the day I left for boot camp in the United States Navy. Joining the US Navy, was probably the best decision I ever made (except marrying my wife). In 4 years of Active duty, I learned the meaning of honor, discipline and attention to detail. I was honorably discharged to attend college. I am a 1997 graduate of Western Michigan University. My college experience was fantastic, While I attended school, I was president of the Gamma Iota chapter of Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity, served in the Hispanic Student Organization and Inter Fraternity Council. Professionally, I have been employed at SecureOne Benefit Administrators, Inc as a Group Insurance Representative since January 1998. I consult with employers and Health Insurance agents on matters of Group Health benefits for groups ranging from 2 employees on up. I work in fully and self insured markets, as well as Dental, Rx and Short Term Disability. Since the fall of 1998, I have been working on my CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) designation. Although I am almost half way through. I have found the courses challenging and insightful. I guess my purpose for achieving this designation is my pursuit for excellence in my profession. I hope you have found this interesting. If you want to say hello let me know! |
